What&#8217;s the contemporary lingo? Dropped a track. I feel empty, saddened, like I lost a limb. Part of me felt like it wasn&#8217;t good enough, ready enough. However, I have been approaching it much like working on The Floor with Moxie and producer Luke.  What does it need next? Where do the spaces need to be filled? Make sure it&#8217;s not too much. If you do more takes, is it going to make it any better? If you add more instruments and sounds, is it going to make it better? Alas, it IS done. I need to move on, I have a lot of new songs I need to produce\/record\/arrange. Plus prepare my favorite three for a professional studio in Bushwick. And maybe\u2026a weight will lift off me\u2026because\u2026this song comes from a dark, sad, stuck place. **************Update: 5-4-2019  I realized the next day that the song was absolutely NOT ready to be released.  I pulled it from Spotify &amp; Itunes, etc and spent every day listening to the song. On my commute in the car. At the supermarket with my ear buds. And every time I listened I caught a major flaw in the mix that I needed to go home and fix. Sometimes I had no idea how to even fix it, and I first had to research and watch Cubase how-to videos.  For example, why were half the tracks only coming through one speaker? No wonder the electric guitars sounded thin and tinny.  This little fix eased, if not solved, my frustration with the tracks.  There were two screaming vocals on the first chorus. I finally realized how to use the automation track to mix down the volume in certain spots on the track but not others. It looked easy when I watched &#8220;how to&#8221; videos, but then I&#8217;d try and wind up botching it. I realized that I wasn&#8217;t getting it simply because couldn&#8217;t see what I was doing. LOL! I needed to visually &#8220;stretch&#8221; the track and voila! I can now mix via automation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, sorry to assault you with technical jargon. Thank you for listening to the final version. I learned so, so much from mixing this particular song.
