Frustrating, I wish I could work faster,  I think if I had time to play more, my rhythm would be more reliable and spot on. The production was surprisingly hard.  It&#8217;s a folk song at heart. so I had to be really careful not to over-do it.   I meant to play acoustic, but I left that guitar at work, so I broke out my electric. Notice there&#8217;s no bass,  hardly any harmonies, and sparse second and third guitar parts.  It was tricky figuring out when to build and deconstruct.  After a morning of watching youtube live DJ sets, I became too obsessed with the dynamics and I feel like this took forever.  It was at least 10 times as long to produce than to write. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After my initial mixing automations of the individual tracks,  I&#8217;d master the song only to hear something else that required attnetion, and have to go back in, tweak, mix and master again. And again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s nice to wrap my heart in this project for a couple of intense days.   As most of us, this pandemic has drastically changed my situation.  I think I must work 60 hours a week now.  And that&#8217;s an improvement over March and April.   A few people haven&#8217;t been able to come in, so I&#8217;m working overtime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, my wife just asked if I feel it&#8217;s a waste of time to be writing a blog post that noone will ever read. She feels I should be working on my album, not a blog post. I explained that I&#8217;m burnt out, I&#8217;ve been working on this song for hours.
