I’d been looking for a bunch of mp3 files for the past year, which were recorded by The Pollynoses around 2004. I couldn’t find them for the life of me, though I knew I had uploaded them to a server somewhere, but where?
This past week I finally came across them! Back in the day, when I was learning how to code & build websites, I’d uploaded the songs to one of my earlier music sites. Though the domain has long been obsolete, the files were still up there on a server that’s shared with some of my more current websites. Let me elaborate and add that last week was the WORST work week of my life. One of my current websites had crashed, and I had to dig through the directories with tech support when I noticed them. So yeah, sometimes shit does turn to flowers. Yay! This one is a standout, produced & engineered by Dave Schramm (The Schramms, Yo La Tengo) Haven’t heard it in YEARS, so it’s nice to listen with a fresh perspective. It’s so odd, so different than what I’ve ever written, before or after. Kind of like spoken word meets heavy metal. Damn I miss playing in a BAND. That’s Tony Tone (Tony Rubin) on wicked bass, Scott MX Turner on drums, and Katy from Wales, you know Katy Lewis, the most beautiful voice and the best singer.
