I may be the world’s worst music critic. The more a song punches me in the gut and infuses every single cell of my body with emotion, the less words I have to describe or critique. (This is the first video I came across upon Googling it.)

Where Did You Go?

Sometimes I record a sketch of a song on my laptop video cam. I recently came across a video that I made about a year ago then forgot.  I sang “where did you go” over and over again.  Though it was lacking lyrical content, I was nagged by the feelings it churned up. It had to be. And so a few months later, bedazzled with my wife’s beautiful and dark background vocals, it is.  I want to play this with a full band so badly it hurts.

This summer a few friends from afar visited NYC, and I was fortunate to spend time with them. It actually sort of snowballed into hanging out with some local friends who I lost touch with but nevertheless am so fond of!

I realized I spend most of my life as a hermit, and the value of positive social interaction on my mood has been exponential.
